Dr. Lemon was born in Iowa City, then moved to Des Moines during his grade school years. After attending Roosevelt High school, Dr. Lemon remained in central Iowa and graduated with honors from Simpson College in Indianola. Dr. Lemon is a third generation doctor following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. Dr. Lemon attended Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry in Portland, Oregon. While at OHSU, Dr. Lemon received awards for outstanding student in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and was elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental society for his academic achievements. Dr. Lemon received his dental degree graduating Suma Cum Laude. Dr. Lemon furthered his education by attending the Medical College of Pennsylvania, where he obtained his MD degree. Dr. Lemon completed his surgical training at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. While there, he earned his certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as General Surgery. Dr. Lemon is trained as both physicians and dentists, giving them a unique and comprehensive perspective regarding your care. At this time, there is only one other Oral ad Maxillofacial in Iowa with comparable training. Dr. Lemon is actively on staff at Iowa Methodist, Mercy, and Lutheran hospitals where he participates as part of the trauma team. Midwest Oral and Facial Surgery is an integral part of facial trauma patient care in central Iowa. Dr. Lemon currently resides in Johnston with his wife Erin and their two children, Coty (6) and Meredith (11). His interests outside the office include actively participating in his children’s school and sporting events, including coaching their sports teams. He also enjoys hunting, fishing, and golfing.
